Quest'anno si festeggia il 30esimo anniversario dell' EICA, European Council of Interior Architects, e a seguito del consiglio direttivo svoltosi a Venezia il 31.10.2021 è stato deliberato di assegnare all'Italia l'organizzazione della sua assemblea generale del 2022 in occasione del trentennale della sua fondazione.

Fondata nel 1922, è l'organo di rappresentanza delle organizzazioni professionali europee in architettura d'interni e design.

È un importante piattaforma europea per scambiare opinioni ed informazioni per migliorare sempre più la nostra pratica professionale e promuoverla, ed è importante proprio perchè la professione di architetto d'interni, interior designer, sta evolvendo e sviluppando ogni giorno.

"C'è una visione comune sulla professione degli architetti/designer d'interni come parte vitale della società, della cultura e dell'economia." Questa affermazione, oggi di condivisione europea, mostra quanto hanno lavorato e sviluppato la loro missione.

La sua storia parte con la creazione di un gruppo di lavoro nel 1990 dopo un forum IFI, International Federation of Interior Architects/Designers a Maastricht, nei Paesi Bassi, che doveva stabilire standard per l'istruzione, la formazione e la qualificazione degli architetti d'interni e promuovere quindi una condotta e competenza professionale a livello europeo, che portò proprio alla nascita di ECIA nel 1992.

Tra i progetti realizzati ricordiamo la "Carta Europea dell'educazione all'architettura d'interni", l'adesione all'iniziativa "New European Bauhaus" presentata dalla presidente della Commissione europea U. Von der Leyen per sostenere lo sviluppo collettivo di una società più sostenibile e avvicinare il Green Deal ai cittadini, e tutti i gruppi di lavoro costituiti per sviluppare, regolamentare e far riconoscere questa fantastica professione. Oggi EICA è diventata un organizzazione attiva di 15 associazioni rappresentati di altrettante Nazioni Europee con oltre 15.000 Interior Designers e Architetti d'Interni iscritti.

AIPi, Associazione Italiana Progettisti d'interni, è tra i soci fondatori di EICA.

Nata a Milano nel 1969 da un gruppo di importanti architetti e designers tra i quali Franz Sartori e Del Lago, Magistretti e Castiglioni, ha come missione l'intento di ottenere un riconoscimento ufficiale per la professione e l'istituzione di un albo professionale. La loro evoluzione negli anni ha portato risultati importanti, solo per citarne qualcuni tra gli ultimi l'accordo con Action Group per la proposta formativa di Infoprogetto Accademy, la partnership ufficiale con Maison&Objet di Parigi 2022 il punto di riferimento internazionale per architetti/designers ed appassionati del mondo dell'Interior design. This year we celebrate the 30th anniversary of the EICA, European Council of Interior Architects, and following the board of directors held in Venice on 31.10.2021 it was decided to assign Italy the organization of its general assembly of 2022 on the occasion of the thirty years of its foundation.

Founded in 1922, it is the representative body of European professional organizations in interior architecture and design.

It is an important European platform for exchanging opinions and information to improve our professional practice and promote it, and it is important precisely because the profession of interior architect, interior designer, is evolving and developing every day.

"There is a common understanding of the profession of interior architects / designers as a vital part of society, culture and the economy." This affirmation, today of European sharing, shows how much they have worked and developed their mission.

Its story starts with the creation of a working group in 1990 after an IFI, International Federation of Interior Architects / Designers forum in Maastricht, the Netherlands, which was to establish standards for the education, training and qualification of architects of and therefore promote professional conduct and competence at European level, which led to the birth of ECIA in 1992.

Among the projects carried out we remember the "European Charter of Interior Architecture Education", the adhesion to the "New European Bauhaus" initiative presented by the President of the European Commission U. Von der Leyen to support the collective development of a company more sustainable and bring the Green Deal closer to citizens, and all the working groups set up to develop, regulate and have this fantastic profession recognized.

Today EICA has become an active organization of 15 associations represented by as many European nations with over 15,000 Interior Designers and Architects of registered interiors.

AIPi, the Italian Association of Interior Designers, is one of the founding members of EICA.
